Levels...
LEVEL I - BEGINNERS (for dogs with no or little training,
regardless of age)
Not only will your dog learn both the hand signals and verbal commands in a kind
and gentle manner commencing at this first level of training, but you will learn
to "speak dog" and "read your dog".
In addition to the basic obedience commands such as heel (walking by your left
side without pulling you), and automatically sitting when you stop walking, he
will also learn stay, down, and come when called with a sit in front of you.
As well, several other issues are addressed including dogs jumping up on you and
others as well as on furniture, lunging for good old dried up pizza or chicken
bones on the sidewalk (they all love to do this), stealing food from the
countertop or table, grabbing or snapping food from your or someone's hand,
incessant or annoying barking for attention, the "on" and "off" switch for the
dog's attention, etc.
Also, you will learn to curb his "frenzy" as the doorbell rings.
Upon successful completion of this Level, a Diploma of Graduation, bearing the
Mother Knows Best Obedience School "Paw Of Approval" is provided.
LEVEL II - NOVICE (for dogs having successfully completed the
Level I training course)
Level II is where dog training takes on an entirely new meaning. At this Level,
you and your dog will be working primarily on hand signals, both on and off lead,
as well as distance training. On hand signals alone, he will gain the confidence
(and so will you) to enjoy out-of-sight sit-stays and down-stays, drop on recall
(I firmly believe this exercise has saved the lives of many dogs), recall from a
distance, heeling off lead, improvement in reliability of stationary commands
amid distractions, etc.
Upon successful completion of this Level, a Diploma of Graduation, bearing the
Mother Knows Best Obedience School "Paw Of Approval" is provided.
LEVEL III - INTERMEDIATE; LEVEL IV - ADVANCED; AND, LEVEL V - UTILITY
These are advanced levels of training which include the retrieve, retrieve over
the high jump, directed jumping (both solid and bar jumps), broad jump, go-out
(dog to leave your side), scent discrimination, heel free, etc.
Upon successful completion of each of these Levels, a Diploma of Graduation,
bearing the Mother Knows Best Obedience School "Paw Of Approval" is provided.
